2 Questions: (1) Can you lay tiles on a formica countertop? (2) Can you prime and paint formica cabinets? - formica cabinets
I think to put tiles on my bathroom counter (I will not sink), and paint the cabinets on the floor, the counter.
Have you ever had anything similar? Is it possible or is there something I should know before you try to return?

1. Sand the desktop first to get to a key and the use of waterproof epoxy grout when fixing the tiles. Follow the instructions on the mortar, because it has a short working time - set a few tiles at a time.
2. The doors of the arena to give a key to paint, then paint with Formica. There are several brands of kitchen color in its market. Use cabinets a good manual first. When the paint on the doors, remove (the first cabinet to be treated and then removed before painting, unless they are replaced)
You CAN .... but wouldnt look good or the last. Formica is made as a cheap alternative to real counter. Better not Tile over Formica, the duties of the custom wine cellar and will be greatly delayed. Painting over it is even worse. Sorry, you have to do it right.
It is certainly possible, but not wise or desirable.
